Building Blocks
I’ve made a lot of images of buildings before, and spent a lot of time creating abstract images. But I’ve rarely put the two together with any sort of intention. There were buildings, and there were abstracts. Most of my buildings are shot straight on and full, like the Roadside Attractions gallery next door. Most of my abstracts are from nature, like the Impressions galleries elsewhere on this site. The gallery here is a new working project trying to put these two together in a more thoughtful and principled way. This gallery was originally seeded with images taken during a June 2022 workshop in Chicago with Angie McMonigal. I then went back through my catalogue and added some images I had made in San Francisco, Seattle, and a few other further flung places. Consider this a working palette, not a finished portfolio. It will (hopefully) change quite a bit over the next year as I hone, refine and curate this gallery. Stay Tuned!
